In October Kosuge released a short video to promote the village. It was a first-person horror video game about zombies.
The video went viral, reaching over 63,000 views. (The village population is only 700.) It even attracted attention from English outlets around the world:

Then, at the annual harvest festival the first weekend of November, Kosuge celebrated a late Halloween by converting the hot springs facility into a haunted house!
